Traditional Hand Made Flokati Wool Shag Rugs, imported from Greece

Flokati  Rugs have been a Greek tradition for centuries. The rugs originally serviced the shepherds, being used as clothing, beds for tents, and keeping them warm during the long winter months.  These rugs are still made in the traditional way.   Flokati rugs are  naturally stain and soil resistant.  The high moisture content of the fiber, along with wool’s protein constituents, gives Flokati rugs excellent flame resistance as well.

Our collection of Traditional Flokati rugs is made from 100% New Zealand Drysdale Wool Type 126/7, by far the best in the world and known for its long fibers and consistency of texture.   These are available in stock sizes and custom orders, in designer colors.  We also feature Modern Flokati Rugs, made with a polyester yarn backing for stain resistance and durability.  These are an economical choice but still retain the traditional beauty of Flokati and are available in designer colors.
