Traditional Hand Made Flokati Wool Shag Rugs

These Flokati Rugs are still made in the traditional way, as they have been in Greece for 1,500 years. Flokati rugs are naturally stain and soil resistant. The high moisture content of the fiber, along with wool’s protein constituents, gives Flokati rugs excellent flame resistance as well. Our collection of Traditional Flokati rugs is made from 100% New Zealand Drysdale Wool Type 126/7, by far the best in the world and known for its long fibers and consistency of texture. These are available in stock sizes and custom orders, in designer colors. Matching Flokati Pillows are available as well. There are three traditional heavy weights of Greek Flokati: 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 Kilos per square meter. A 2.0 Kilo Flokati Rug is thick enough to lend a luxurious shag appearance, but will not impede a door opening across it or furnishings. 3.0 and 4.0 Kilo Flokati Rugs are very thick indeed and you will have some difficulty with some furnishings resting on top of them. We can make custom Flokati up to 6.0 Kilos per square meter.
